*“[Discipline in a Long-Distance Race]Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!” Hebrews 12:1 MSG

...Dwell in Your love hurting but sweet

This blog was originally intended to help me keep track of my blessings. I've always been wanting to maintain a blog but have failed to do so because I have other things to write about (nagdadahilan). So I thought of an easy topic that I can write about everyday, without thinking of how to make it interesting for others. This was intended to fulfill my desire to blog and to glorify God by simply acknowledging His blessings.

Until Ching, my bestest best friend and best blogger in the world, encouraged me everyday to keep on posting. There were days when it was hard to recognize the "best" blessings because I was clouded with frustrations and doubts. But I knew I had to keep writing because this blog is my commitment to my Provider.

This blog is changing my life in ways I never imagined. Everyday, I seek God's blessings especially in the most unexciting situations. Because sometimes His blessings are buried deep. But most of the time, His blessings are just like flowers in the garden ready to be picked.

This "corban" thing is like a cycle. God gives, I receive. God happy, Me thankful. That's the least that I could give back to Him. This morning I had another corban moment. I received a long text message from a sister in Christ telling me that she was inspired by my blog. I was surprised. Kala ko kasi sila Ching, Eyna, Carla, at Gail lang nagbabasa ng blog ko eh...I rarely promote my blog. Anyway, what hit me so much about that sister's message was that she also inspired me. Nainspire ko siya, tapos nainspire ako. It was kinda weird but no explanations are needed. All I know is that it was another corban moment. So I thank God for...

Papa had a motorcycle accident this afternoon. Thank God convoy sila ng officemates n'ya  (741) so they took him home. I took him to Los Banos Doctors' Hospital for X-ray tests. Thank God, sis ko sa SFC yung head nurse ng ER (742). Carla was very kind and accomodating  (743). We used to go to St. Jude Family Hospital but most of the time I don't feel the care of the nurses there. Sa LBDH, napakacaring nila, pati yung doctor.

X-ray results showed a questionable fracture on Papa's lateral rib. So he was admitted for further observation. Thank God it was just like that  (744). Thank God in advance because I know he'll be perfectly fine soon  (745). :D

*I'll run the course you lay out for me if you'll just show me how.” Psalm 119:30

Love Prayer
I pray that our love will keep on growing more and more,
together with true knowledge and perfect judgement,
so that we will be able to choose what is best.
Then we will be free from all impurity
and blame on the Day of Christ.
Our lives will be filled with the true good qualities
which only Jesus Christ can produce,
for the glory and praise of God.

*Watch out for people who try to dazzle you with big words and intellectual double-talk. They want to drag you off into endless arguments that never amount to anything. They spread their ideas through the empty traditions of human beings and the empty superstitions of spirit beings. But that's not the way of Christ. Everything of God gets expressed in him, so you can see and hear him clearly. You don't need a telescope, a microscope, or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ, and the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come to him, that fullness comes together for you, too. His power extends over everything. Colossians 2:9-10 MSG

A thankful person has complete joy in Christ.

666. Max Lucado's UpWords

Thump-Thud, Thump-Thud
When a potter bakes a pot, he checks its solidity by pulling it out of the oven and thumping it. If it “sings,” it’s ready. If it “thuds,” it’s placed back in the oven.
The character of a person is also checked by thumping. Been thumped lately?

Late-night phone calls. Grouchy teacher. Grumpy moms. Burnt meals. Flat tires. You’ve-got-to-be-kidding deadlines. Those are thumps. Thumps are those irritating inconveniences that trigger the worst in us. They catch us off guard. Flat-footed. They aren’t big enough to be crises, but if you get enough of them, watch out! Traffic jams. Long lines. Empty mailboxes. Dirty clothes on the floor. Even as I write this, I’m being thumped. Because of interruptions, it has taken me almost two hours to write these two paragraphs. Thump. Thump. Thump.

How do I respond? Do I sing? Or do I thud?

Jesus said that out of the nature of the heart a man speaks (Luke 6:45). There’s nothing like a good thump to reveal the nature of a heart. The true character of a person is seen not in momentary heroics but in the thump-packed humdrum of day-to-day living.

If you have a tendency to thud more than you sing, take heart.

The true character of a person is seen not in momentary heroics but in the thump-packed humdrum of day-to day living.

There is hope for us “thudders”:
1. Begin by thanking God for thumps. I don’t mean a half-hearted thank-you. I mean a rejoicing, jumping-for-joy thank-you from the bottom of your heart (James 1:2). Chances are that God is doing the thumping. And he’s doing it for your own good. So every thump is a reminder that God is molding you (Heb. 12:5–8).

2. Learn from each thump. Face up to the fact that you are not “thump-proof.” You are going to be tested from now on. You might as well learn from the thumps—you can’t avoid them. Look upon each inconvenience as an opportunity to develop patience and persistence. Each thump will help you or hurt you, depending on how you use it.

3. Be aware of “thump-slump” times. Know your pressure periods. For me Mondays are infamous for causing thump-slumps. Fridays can be just as bad. For all of us, there are times during the week when we can anticipate an unusual amount of thumping. The best way to handle thump-slump times? Head on. Bolster yourself with extra prayer, and don’t give up.

Remember, no thump is disastrous. All thumps work for good if we are loving and obeying God.

God is enough.

I woke up early and in a hurry because we would sing in the first mass. So I immediately got my towel in the terrace when I saw this view (661):
God's creation is perfect. :D no editing needed!
I've always loved staring at clouds. I loved cutting pics of clouds from magazines. I remember my friend Eyna, who also did that for me during our high school days. Buti nlng uso na ang digicam at pede ko na picturan yung mga nakikita kong magandang views. And just last week, I heard about a book called Cloud Collector's Handbook (662). It's not yet available in the Philippines but I know I'll have a copy of it soon. I can feel it coming, so I'll thank God in advance.

Since my brother got married, I have always been looking forward to weekends. Because during weekends, our family is BIG. Though Kuya is not here with us now, I saw him in my dreams last night (663), and he has a cute representative here:
One of my favorite blessings
Right after singing in the mass (664), I went to SFC's provincial leaders' assembly with Ishi (665). Ishi is my sister in Christ and she never fails to lighten up my spirit.

It is in God's nature to bless abundantly.
